The all JFET pre-amp, overdrive and fuzz - there’s no op amps or clipping diodes in this box!
Two u-amp JFET gain stages produce valve like drive that reacts to your guitar and picking, and cleans up from you guitar volume knob
A complex tone stage varies mids to roll from scooped US to rich warm British tones
The pre-amp circuit board is identical to its big brother, but the extension board for the external gain control treadle has been removed and a couple of other tweaks have been made
The result is a huge range of gain and tone profiles in a smaller package
Why JFETs? The Junction Field Effect Transistor is a voltage controlled current device with very high input impedance. It behaves more like a triode vacuum valve (tube) than any other solid state device and is therefore ideal for guitar amplification duties, giving a more natural roll into overdrive without the need for clipping diodes, and cleaning up gradually as you roll down the volume knob on your guitar.
(it is not possible to split the gain controls with this version)
